Happy Eastern Evrbdy!!!!!
Another Mystery Pic by MGsings
The origin of the Easter Bunny?
Who knows...
These serious stone guys are called Moais. They were raised by natives centuries ago in Easter Island, some say as guardians of the seas. Easter Island is isolated in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, halfway between South America and Oceania. That means, literally, thousand and thousand of miles away from anything resembling a continent... How could a bunny get there?... Not the slightest idea.
By the way, Easter Island natives call their land Tepito Te Henua. That is: "The Navel of the World".
Happy Easter to all of you...
Hope you eat so much chocolate as to roll over the floor!!!!

Easter Island remains a mystery, I think I like it that way. There is something so cool about a mysterious navel.
Oh I didn't eat too much chocolate really...there was also marshmellow bunnies and marshmellow peeps and jelly beans and peanut butter eggs and....ugh.
;)
Happy Easter to you too Gonsings.Interesting post, it actually led me to wonder what is Easter all about, what about the Easter egg? origins I mean.
Happy belated Easter. Cute picture.
Hello Guys... I had few days off and Blogger has not been at its best, so circumstances have certainly not been on my side to stop by this site...
Hope all of you had a great Easter...
db...
"Mysterious navels" are something that would drive more that one crazy, that's for sure...
Hope you enjoyed all your "rolling"... :)
Majestad...
I see you kept your diet balanced these holidays... Looks like you had lots of fun. ;)
Amrita...
Thanks for taking a minute off to drop me comment (I know you are quite busy at this moment)...
As a festivity Easter is really not that hard to understand...
All of us who have ever celebrated it know that it can be lots of fun, so it's not hard to accept that its origin has nothing to do with the martyrizing christian story about the crucifixion of Jesus and his revival three days after...
Easter is certainly about revival, BUT REVIVAL OF THE SPRING!!!
The old catholic church just took over ancient pagan Celt celebrations to welcolme the Spring and decided to adapt them to suit its own religious calendar and dogmatic beliefs...
Still, we see that most people consider Easter a very enjoyable celebration, so I suppose the real truth lies deep within ourselves, like some sort of atavistic spiritual knowledge...
About the egg, it's just the perfect symbol to commemorate The Birth of New Life - and what else is Spring all about, if not that?
Hope you had Happy Easter,
:)
happyandblue2...
